Guildrun system requirements

Taken from the Steam page of the demo. Modest on Windows, Apple Silicon only on Mac, and one line that contradicts itself.

What do you need to run Guildrun?

On Windows the minimum is a GTX 960 or RX 470 with 8 GB of memory, on Windows 10, and an HDD is fine. Recommended is a GTX 1660 Ti with 16 GB and an SSD. Mac needs Apple Silicon, an M1 at minimum. Storage is 15 GB, 18 GB on macOS. Steam Deck works with the trackpad today; official Deck and controller support are planned for the full release.

Windows

Steam attaches a note to the minimum column: those parts are for Low quality at 1920×1080, and an HDD is fine — no SSD required. The recommended column asks for an SSD.

The minimum graphics card came out in 2015. This is not a demanding game.

macOS

Apple Silicon only. No Intel Mac is listed, at either tier, and the minimum memory on Mac is double the Windows minimum.

The macOS line Steam gets wrong

The recommended row on the Steam page reads "macOS 13 Sequoia or newer". Those two do not go together. macOS 13 is Ventura; Sequoia is macOS 15. The minimum row says "macOS 13 Ventura or newer", which is internally consistent.

So the recommended macOS version is genuinely unresolved: either 13 Ventura, matching the number, or 15 Sequoia, matching the name. The error is on the store page and belongs to the publisher, not to us.

If you are picking a machine, the safe reading is that anything from Ventura up with an M1 Pro satisfies both interpretations.

Linux, SteamOS and Steam Deck

There is no Linux or SteamOS entry on the store page at all, and the studio FAQ lists Linux support as undetermined.

For Steam Deck the studio FAQ is more specific, and it changed in August: the game is playable today with the trackpad, and binding Shift to a button is what makes every tooltip reachable. Official Steam Deck support is planned for the full release, not for the demo.

Controller support moved too. The July wording was that it was being evaluated; the FAQ updated on 12 August 2026 says plainly that the studio plans to add it. There is still none in the demo. The patch notes of 29 September list it among the work on the full version.

Where these numbers come from

The Steam page of the Guildrun Demo, published 16 July 2026 by Leyline Creations, which is both developer and publisher. They describe the demo build. The full game is aimed at the first half of 2027 and its requirements may move.

Questions people ask

Can my laptop run Guildrun?
Very likely. The minimum is a GTX 960 with 8 GB of memory, which is a 2015-class machine, and an HDD is explicitly fine.
Does Guildrun need an SSD?
Not for the minimum spec — Steam says an HDD is okay. The recommended spec asks for an SSD.
Does Guildrun run on an Intel Mac?
No Intel Mac is listed. The minimum processor is an Apple M1, so Apple Silicon only.
Which macOS version do I need?
The minimum is macOS 13 Ventura. The recommended row is contradictory on Steam: it says "macOS 13 Sequoia", but 13 is Ventura and Sequoia is 15. Ventura upwards satisfies the minimum either way.
Is there a Linux version of Guildrun?
Not listed on the store page, and the studio calls Linux support undetermined.
Does Guildrun work on Steam Deck?
Yes, with the trackpad. Bind Shift to a button to reach every tooltip. Official Steam Deck support and controller support are both planned for the full release.
How much disk space does Guildrun need?
15 GB on Windows, 18 GB on macOS, for the demo build.
