Seven archetypes

Duelist

A hero’s class decides two things that matter more than its stats: which upgrade pool it draws from at rank A and again at rank S, and which relics and items are built to support it. Seven classes, four heroes each, and a shared pool per class — so two heroes of the same class compete for the same upgrades. Each page below lists the heroes, both upgrade pools in full, and every relic and item that carries the class name.

Updated for patch 0.5.10

Rush Duelists, one of the two Duelist builds rated S, spends none of its eleven relics on the class and leans on the Acceleration family instead. Irini and Nyx both take Rush Dynamo for 1 Attack Speed per Rush trigger, and Rip is the third hero. He joins them again in two more of the four builds named after the class, with Pimenta in his place in Debuff Duelists: sturdy company for a class that averages 712.5 health, ahead of only Mystics and Mages.

Class gear

Class relics show up in the other S tier build, Rush Duelists Stack, instead: Duelist's Fury Filigree for 150 Attack Speed during Rush (10), Duelist's Flame Banner for 3 Burn per auto attack, and two Duelist's Foil on Irini. With Karsu, Irini and Nyx in combat, Duelist's Memento brings Stall abilities 12 seconds forward.

Of the two relics in Debuff Duelists, one is Duelist's Outbreak Banner, rewritten in 0.5.5 to add 20 damage to each Duelist auto attack for every Debuff type the target carries. Sal becomes its second Duelist through The Breezy.

Speed on the sheet

Every Duelist starts with 20 bonus Attack Speed, and the four hold the fastest base attack rates on the roster; the quickest heroes outside the class, Hoyoung and Funke, make 0.47 attacks per second. Burning, Poisonous and Freezing Attacks apply their Debuff on auto attack, each with an Acceleration partner worth 2 Attack Speed against a target that already carries it. Six upgrades in the pool carry Backup, the highest count among the seven pools.

Duelist relics and items

19 entities carry the Duelist name. They are built around what the class does, so they are the first place to look when you commit to it.

Questions people ask

Which heroes are Duelist in Guildrun?
There are 4: Irini, Nyx, Tilly, Karsu. A hero can belong to more than one class, and some specializations grant a second class on top.
What upgrades can a Duelist take?
The Duelist pool has 15 upgrades at rank A and 15 at rank S. A hero takes one at rank A and another at rank S, and the two cannot be the same.
Which relics and items are made for Duelist?
19 carry the class name. Their effects reference what the class does, so they scale with a guild built around it rather than with any team.
Do two heroes of the same class compete for the same upgrades?
Yes. The pool is per class, not per hero, so running two heroes of one class means splitting the same list of upgrades between them.
