Guildrun bosses

A demo run ends on a dragon. Which one, and how hard it hits, comes down to a floor 11 roll you do not control — and to a difficulty curve that does not behave the way you would expect.

How many bosses does Guildrun have?

Three bosses and two mini-bosses. A run is twelve floors numbered 0 to 11: floor 5 sends the Demon or the Hydra, floor 11 sends the Fire, Frost or Poison Dragon. The Poison Dragon carries the most health at every difficulty, 187,420 on difficulty 2, and applies the weakest status per hit.

The five fights, and where they sit

A run is twelve floors, numbered 0 to 11. Two of them are not ordinary combat.

Difficulty 2 is tankier than difficulty 3

This is the part that surprises people, and it holds across the roster. Going from difficulty 1 to 2 adds health and changes nothing else. Going from 2 to 3 raises damage sharply, and can take health away.

What difficulty 3 buys instead

The Fire Dragon and the Demon come out of the top step lighter than they went in. What replaces the health is offence: base attack damage goes from 300 to 425 on every dragon, and attack, magic and attack speed each rise by roughly half.

The practical reading is that a team which wins on difficulty 2 by outlasting the boss can lose on difficulty 3 to a smaller health bar, because the same fight now ends sooner and hits harder.

The three dragons

All three share a shape: 8 attack range, 25 crit, and 300 base attack damage at the bottom two difficulties against 425 at the top. What separates them is the element and how much of the damage arrives up front.

What the dragons actually do

  • Every breath deals 200+200 Magic damage to the whole team, on top of the status it applies.
  • Every auto attack splashes to Heroes adjacent to the target for 66% damage, which is what makes a tight formation expensive.
  • The Poison Dragon is the heaviest on paper, with the most health at every difficulty, but applies the weakest status per hit.
  • The Fire Dragon is the opposite: the lightest at difficulty 3, and the strongest status per hit.

The two mini-bosses

Floor 5 sends one of two, and they ask opposite questions.

The Demon is a threshold fight. At 50% remaining health it gains 25 attack speed, shields worth 25% of its maximum health, and burns your whole team. Damage that lands before that threshold is worth more than damage after it.

The Hydra runs the other way. It starts with three heads and loses one below 66% health, then again below 33%. Each head past the first grants an extra attack at 33% damage and 15 health per second of regeneration, so cutting it down makes it weaker. The danger is the opening, not the end.

Both are rated tougher by the game than their health bar suggests. The Demon reads 13,560 health but 17,822 effective at difficulty 1, because its shields and sustain are counted in.

The relic each boss carries is not a reward

Every boss has a relic named after it. None of the five sits in the player pool, none can be drafted or bought, and none appears among the 315 relics you can actually pick up. They belong to the boss.

DemonDemon's FuryEvery enemy gains 20 attack speed and a shield at 50% health
HydraHydra's HealingEvery enemy gains 1 health per second for each 150 maximum health

They get worse the longer you last

The three dragon relics permanently raise their own stack count on every combat victory. The further a run continues under one, the more health each fight costs before it begins.

Questions people ask

How many bosses does Guildrun have?
Three, plus two mini-bosses. A run has one boss floor and one mini-boss floor, so a single run shows you two of the five.
Which dragon will I fight?
One of Fire, Frost or Poison, settled at floor 11. All three exist at every difficulty, and you do not choose.
What is the hardest boss in Guildrun?
By health, the Poison Dragon: 124,000 at difficulty 1 and 187,420 above it. By damage, the three dragons converge at difficulty 3, where base attack damage goes from 300 to 425.
Why does difficulty 3 sometimes have less health than difficulty 2?
Because the two steps do different jobs. Difficulty 2 adds health and leaves offence alone. Difficulty 3 buys a large offence increase and hands some health back. The Fire Dragon and the Demon both finish lighter.
Do you get a relic for beating a boss?
Not one of the five named after them. Those are boss-side effects and sit outside the player pool entirely.
Where are the bosses in a run?
The mini-boss is on floor 5 and the boss on floor 11, out of floors numbered 0 to 11.
