The Bloom

Pollen tier and best specialization

C

C tier on patch 0.5.12

Runs with Pollen win at an average rate overall and among the worst on SSS difficulty, and player tier lists for Red Rift rate her C or lower. She keeps her place in Stall Aria, where she runs The Fae's Kiss.

Plays in these tier list comps

Tiers are reviewed by hand after each patch (latest: 0.5.12), weighing the runs players share, most of them in Red Rift, the comps that clear the high difficulties, current player tier lists and recent balance changes. All 25 heroes side by side are on the hero tier list.

Pollen is the only Mystic who defends and pressures at the same time: her flower field poisons enemies and shields heroes standing in it, and past Stall (15) it starts healing them too. Her output scales on Mana Regen rather than Magic, which puts her in a different item lane from the rest of the class.

Mana Regen is her Poison stat

Sanctuary of Bloom inflicts 1 Poison per second plus 1 for every 5 Mana Regen. The divisor was 8 until 0.5.6, and with a specialization picked the new value only applied after the 0.5.7 fix. Mystic ranks add 4 Mana Regen each to her base 8, so a rank A Pollen starts at 16.

Stall Aria stacks more on top. Freezing Wand brings 4 Mana Regen, 25 Magic and 12 Frost per cast on the nearest enemy, and each of her two Mystic's Orb copies adds 4 Mana Regen and 25 Starting Mana, then 1 Mana Regen more every 4 casts. That is 28 Mana Regen before her first cast, over 6 Poison per second by the formula, and her upgrade Stall Battery gives every hero 3 more on each Stall trigger. The two Orbs also move her opening Mana from 35 to 85 of a 135 bar.

That build picks The Fae's Kiss. After Stall (10) the field inflicts 100% more Poison, and after Stall (30) every Debuff on every enemy grows by 33% plus 33% per rank. Patch 0.5.3 moved both marks down from Stall (20) and Stall (40), and the Debuff clause is tagged Backup.

The Magic half of the field

Shields and healing read a stat Pollen barely has. The field Shields for 10 plus 100% of Magic per second and heals for 10 plus 50% after Stall (15), yet she starts at 0 Magic and ranks add only 6 each; among her Stall Aria items only the Wand's 25 Magic helps.

The Bloomer doubles that healing and Shielding after Stall (15) and keeps the field up a second longer than its base 5. The Earth's Child adds the Mage class and 30 Magic, 40 before 0.5.2, and after Stall (20) the field also inflicts 1 Burn per 25 Magic and 1 Frost per 33 Magic each second.

What Pollen gains per rank

A hero climbs C → B → A → S — 3 upgrades in all. Every stat rises at the same rate on every hero, with one exception: the primary stat of the class rises three to four times faster. For Pollen that stat is Mana regen.

Stat gains per rank and total from C to S for Pollen.
StatsPer rankC → S
Health+12.5%+37.5%
Defence+8+24
Attack+6+18
Magic+6+18

Crit+4+12

Health rises as a percentage of base health; every other stat is a flat addition. The specialization is chosen at rank B, and the class modifier pools open at A and S.

What class is Pollen in Guildrun?
Pollen is a Mystic hero with 575 health, 30 defence, 20 attack and 15 crit at rank C.

What does Pollen gain per rank?
Every stat rises at each rank, but Mana regen rises three to four times faster than the rest, because it is the primary stat of Pollen’s class. There are 3 upgrades between C and S.
What is Pollen’s starting ability?
Sanctuary of Bloom (Active). Create a flower field for 5 seconds. Each second, inflict 1 (+1 per 5 Mana Regen) Poison on enemies and apply 10 (+100% Magic) Shields to Heroes inside the flower field. Each second after Stall (15), heal Heroes inside the flower field for 10 (+50% Magic).

Rank B unlocks the specialization. Rank A adds a class upgrade. Rank S adds a second class upgrade and a fourth item slot. A hero below rank B cannot take a specialization at all.
