Hero tier list

Every one of the 25 heroes has a tier, from S to D. It starts from the runs players shared on patches 0.5.9 to 0.5.12, most of them in Red Rift: how often runs that end with the hero in the party are won, on all difficulties and on SSS alone, with small samples pulled toward the average so a lucky handful cannot top the list. That is weighed against the strongest published comps and the current tier lists players keep for Red Rift, and where they disagree the hero page says so. Each hero page also ranks its three specializations.

Updated for patch 0.5.13

Who are the best heroes in Guildrun?

Nyx and Niklas are the two S tier heroes on patch 0.5.12, with Karsu, Reyna, Rip, Irini and Rowan in A. Karsu and Nyx win more often than anyone else in the runs players shared from 0.5.9 to 0.5.12, and Niklas is the front liner that player tier lists rate highest for Red Rift. All 25 heroes are rated, and each hero page ranks its three specializations too.

Questions people ask

How is this tier list calculated?
It is an editorial call built on three sources: how often runs with the hero in the final party are won across the runs players shared from 0.5.9 to 0.5.12, on all difficulties and on SSS alone; the hero's place in the strongest published comps; and the current tier lists players keep for Red Rift. Small samples are pulled toward the average.
Who is the best hero in Guildrun?
Nyx and Niklas share S on patch 0.5.12. Nyx wins often in the runs players share and anchors all three Rush Duelist comps; Niklas, on The Executive, is the front liner that player tier lists rate highest for Red Rift, and his runs back it up.
Why is a hero in D?
Funke is the only hero in D: in the runs players shared, the ones that keep him to the end are won less often than with almost any other hero, and player tier lists for Red Rift put him near the bottom too. Older lists had him at S, before patch 0.5.5 reworked his Burn.
